      A. D. Alexandrov proved hat the only compact embedded constant mean curvature hypersurface in \(\mathbb{R}^n\), \(\mathbb{H}^n\) and \(\mathbb{S}^n\) is the round sphere. In this paper periodic surfaces in \(\mathbb{H}^2\times \mathbb{R}\) are studied. The considered discrete groups of isometrics of \(\mathbb{H}^2\times \mathbb{R}\) are generated by a horizontal translation \(\psi\) along horocycles \(c(s)\) of \(\mathbb{H}^2\) and/or a vertical translation \(T(h)\) for some \(h\). Then the group is a subgroup of \(\mathbb Z^2\) generated by \(\psi\) and \(T(h)\), the quotient space \(M= \mathbb{H}^2\times \mathbb{R}/[\psi, T(h)]\) is diffeomorphic to \(\mathbb{T}^2\times\mathbb{R}\), where \(\mathbb{T}^2\) is the 2-torus. \(M\) is foliated by the family of tori \(T(s)= c(s)\times\mathbb{R}/[\psi, T(h)]\) which are intrinsically flat and have constant mean curvature \({1\over 2}\). The author classifies the compact embedded constant mean curvature surfaces in the space \(M\), that is, she proves an Alexandrov-type theorem for doubly periodic \(H\)-surfaces (Theorem 1). She also constructs some examples of periodic minimal surfaces in \(\mathbb{H}^2\times \mathbb{R}\). At the end of the paper the author proves a multivalued Rado theorem for small perturbations of the helicoid (Theorem 2).
