Period theorem and minimal degrees of isogenies (Q2510751)

Summary: We give a new, sharpened version of the period theorem of \textit{D. Masser} and \textit{G. Wüstholz} [Ann. Math. (2) 137, No. 2, 407--458 (1993; Zbl 0796.11023)], which is moreover totally explicit. We also present a new formulation involving all archimedean places. We then derive new bounds for elliptic isogenies, improving those of \textit{F. Pellarin} [Acta Arith. 100, No. 3, 203--243 (2001; Zbl 0986.11046)]. The small numerical constants obtained allow an application to Serre's uniformity problem in the split Cartan case, thanks to the work of \textit{Y. Bilu} et al. [Ann. Inst. Fourier 63, No. 3, 957--984 (2013; Zbl 1307.11075)].
