Consider the system \[ \begin{aligned} &\frac{dx_i}{dt}=v_i\\ &\frac{dv_i}{dt}=\alpha v_i-\beta v_i|v_i|^2-\sum_{j\neq i}\nabla W(x_i-x_j), \end{aligned} \] where \(x_i\), \(v_i\in \mathbb R^2\), \(i=1, 2, \dots, N\), are the positions and velocities of the individual particles, \(\alpha\) and \(\beta\) are effective values for self-propulsion and friction forces, the pairwise interaction potential \(W\) is symmetric. The authors give conditions for the parameters of the system and for the potential so that the family of flock solutions of the considered system is locally asymptotically stable for suitable chosen configurations.
