In this paper, the notion of a relatively \(A\)-maximal monotone operator is introduced and some interesting properties of the operators belonging to this class are established. Further, some proximal type iterative schemes, involving generalized resolvent operators, are introduced and used to approximate the zeroes of a relatively \(A\)-maximal monotone operator in a Hilbert space context.
