Let \(P_\alpha(z)\) be the canonical product of a sequence \(\alpha=(\alpha_n)\) and \(\alpha':=(P_\alpha(\alpha_n))\). In the paper, conditions on the difference \(\beta-\alpha\) of two sequences are obtained, which ensure that \(\beta'\) and \(\alpha'\) are comparable in the sense that \[ \exists \,c,\,C>0:\quad c|\alpha'_n|\leq|\beta'_n|\leq C|\alpha'_n|,\quad n\in\mathbb{N}. \] The values \(\alpha'_n\) play an important role in various contexts. In particular, in the inverse spectral problem, for a class of entire functions, and in the continuation problem. In this paper, the inverse spectral problem for a string, the Krein class of entire functions and a continuation problem for positive definite functions are investigated.
