Let \(X\) be a nonempty set, \(F : X^4 \to X\). A point \((x, y, z, u) \in X^4\) is called a quadrupled fixed point of \(F\) if \(x = F(x, y, z, u)\), \(y = F(y, z, u, x)\), \(z = F(z, u, x, y)\) and \(u = F(u, x, y, z)\). Let \((X, d)\) be a solid cone metric space, \(F: X^4 \to X\), and \(T\) a selfmap of \(X\). The authors prove a fixed point theorem involving a contractive type condition involving \(TF\) on the left hand side of the inequality and \(T\) on the right hand side. The second main result is a fixed point theorem where \(F\) and \(T\) are compatible and satisfy a similar contractive condition. An application is made to proving the existence and uniqueness of an integral equation.
