The purpose of this article is to study the screened, one-dimensional Poisson-Vlasov system \[ \begin{split} &(\partial_{t}+v\partial_{x} +E_{\epsilon}\partial_{x})f_{\epsilon}=0,\\& \rho_{\epsilon}=\int f_{\epsilon}dv,\\& E_{\epsilon}=-\partial_{x}U_{\epsilon},\\& U_{\epsilon}=G_{\epsilon}\ast\rho_{\epsilon} .\\ \end{split} \] The uniqueness of the solution is proved, and under some assumptions on the initial conditions, it is shown that the integral formula for the electric field converges when \(| x|\to\infty\), although the charge density does not decay. The proofs use, among other methods, the Gronvall inequality.
