The author provides a new class of monomial ideals which satisfy Stanley's depth conjecture. He shows that weakly \(0\)-decomposable ideals, which include weakly polymatroidal ideals, satisfy Stanley's conjecture (Theorem 2.12). This generalizes a recent result due to \textit{S. A. S. Fakhari} [Arch. Math. 103, No. 3, 229--233 (2014; Zbl 1308.13017)]. Stanley's depth conjecture is recently claimed to be false in its whole generality by a preprint of \textit{A. Duval, B. Goeckner, C. Klivans} and \textit{J. Martin} [``A non-partitionable Cohen-Macaulay simplicial complex'', \url{arXiv:1504.04279}]. The author also proves that basically squarefree glicci ideals of codimension at most \(3\) satisfy Stanley's conjecture. Both of the afore-mentioned results are proved using induction, in which the induction step is done by passing from a monomial ideal \(I\) in the polynomial ring \(k[x_1,\ldots,x_n]\) to the ideals \(I_{x_n}\) and \(I:x_n\). Here \(I_{x_n}\) denotes the subideal of \(I\) generated by monomials which are not divided by \(x_n\).
