This paper contains an interview with the statistician and geneticist Anthony Edwards about his career and the scientific connections between Great Britain and Italy in the past century. Edwards is the last student of the English statistician and biologist Sir Ronald Aylmer Fisher (17 February 1890 -- 29 July 1962). The paper under review provides interesting topics about the recent development of some important applied fields in strong relationship with the major role of the statistical genetics and statistics.
