Let \(L\) be a topological loop. The multiplication group \(\mathrm{Mult}(L)\) is the group of transformations of \(L\) generated by left multiplications \(A_ax =ax\) and right multiplications \(B_ax =xa, \, a,b, x \in L\). A loop, which is not a group, is called proper. The author considers a 3-dimensional connected non-proper topological loop \(L\) and assumes that the group \(\mathrm{Mult}(L)\) is a simple Lie group \(G\). She proves that then \(G = SL(4,\mathbb{R})\) and the loop \(L\) is homeomorphic to the 3-sphere. Moreover, there is no connected topological loop having an at most 8-dimensional simple Lie group as its multiplication group.
