\textit{S. Kolyada} and \textit{L. Snoha} [Random Comput. Dyn. 4, No. 2--3, 205--233 (1996; Zbl 0909.54012)] introduced a type of non-autonomous dynamical system obtained by composing an ordered sequence of homeomorphisms. Here \textit{C. Conley}'s notion [Isolated invariant sets and the Morse index. Regional Conference Series in Mathematics. No. 38. Providence, R.I.: American Mathematical Society (AMS). (1978; Zbl 0397.34056)] of chain recurrence in the classical setting is formulated for non-autonomous dynamical systems and the basic properties are described.
