Let \(\alpha \geq 0\) and let \(\varphi (t) = (1-t^2)^\alpha\) be the ultraspherical weight on the interval \([-1,1]\). Let \(\mathcal P_n\) denote the set of real polynomials \(p\) of degree \(n\geq 1\) such that \(\int_{-1}^1 p(t) \varphi(t) \, dt = 0\). The author finds upper and lower bounds for \[ \mu_n(\alpha) := \inf_{p \in \mathcal P_n} \int_{\{t \in [-1,1] : p(t) \geq 0\}} \varphi(t) \, dt \] which imply that \(\mu_n(\alpha) \asymp n^{-2(\alpha+1)}\) as \(n \to \infty\).
