The authors study the stability properties of a reverse isoperimetric inequality in the euclidean plane obtained recently by S. L. Pan and H. Zhang. This inequality states that for any planar convex body \(K\) with perimeter \(p(K)\) and area \(a(K)\) then \[ p(K)^2\leq 4\pi(a(K)+|\tilde a (K)|), \] where \(\tilde a (K)\) denotes the oriented area of the domain enclosed by the locus of curvature centers of the boundary curve \(\partial K\); equality holds if and only if \(K\) is a circular disc. The authors use the Fourier analysis of the support function and prove that the above reverse isoperimetric inequality has stability properties with respect to both the Hausdorff distance and the \(L_2\)-metric.
