Automorphisms of polynomial algebras and Dirichlet series (Q2518365)

The authors study the number of automorphisms of the polynomial ring in two variables over a finite field of cardinality \(q\) of bounded degree. More precisely for such an automorphism \(\phi\), let \(\deg \phi\) be defined as the maximum of \(\deg\phi(x),\deg\phi(y)\), for a fixed co-ordinate system \(x,y\). Let \(p_n\) be the number of such \(\phi\) with \(\deg \phi=n\). Then, they write down an explicit formula for \(p_n\) and study the Dirichlet series \(\sum p_n/n^s\).
