This research monograph is concerned with modeling fuzzy preference ordering in the framework of decision-making. The first two chapters serve as a useful introduction to the subject by covering all required prerequisites including interval numbers and interval arithmetic as well as methods of comparison of interval analysis. In Chapter 3 discussed is an acceptability index whose discussion is cast in the setting of interval linear programming. A thorough discussion on fuzzy preference ordering of intervals is presented in Chapter 4 where the diversity of the ordering schemes reflecting the nature of decision making and varying levels of pessimism associated with it is elaborated on. In the consecutive chapters (Chapter 5 to Chapter 7), the developed methodology is applied to commonly encountered operations research problems of shortest path determination, traveling salesman, and transportation where intervals are accommodated as the generic components of the problem formulation (coming as interval-valued arcs or interval cost constraints). The fuzzy preference -- based TOPSIS is discussed as well. Overall, the book is a concise and useful treatment of preference handing in uncertain decision-making problems. The wealth of the illustrative numeric material is a useful feature of the book.
