Let \(K\) be a compact convex set in a locally convex space and let \(f:K \rightarrow \mathbb R\) be a bounded, convex, lower semi-continuous function. Employing some classical arguments popularized by I.\,Namioka and J.\,Bourgain, the author shows that \(f\) is continuous on a dense set of the extreme points of \(K\). As an application, he shows that, if on \(K\) there exists such a strictly convex function \(f\), then the set of extreme points of \(K\) contains a dense set that is \(G_{\delta}\) in \(K\) and is also completely metrizable. This should be compared with the classical result of Hervé that says that the set of extreme points is a Polish space (complete separable metric space) if there is a strictly convex continuous function on \(K\).
