The authors consider the following two statements: S1: The coefficient ring \(A_0\) is a maximal commutative subring in \(A_0\times^\sigma_\alpha G\); S2: For every non-zero two-sided ideal \(I\) in \(A_0\times^\sigma_\alpha G\), \(I\cap A_0\neq\{0\}\). The main result of the paper is Theorem 3.1, in which sufficient conditions are given such that the statements S1 and S2 are equivalent. Theorem 3.1. If \(A_0\times^\sigma_\alpha G\) is a crossed product where \(A_0\) is an integral domain, \(G\) is an Abelian torsion-free group and \(\alpha\) is such that \(\alpha(s,t)=1_{A_0}\) whenever \(\sigma_s=\text{id}_{A_0}\) or \(\sigma_t=\text{id}_{A_0}\), then the two assertions S1 and S2 are equivalent.
