Fundamental results on geometric properties of surfaces and manifolds are generally considered in the context of contrasting the properties of manifolds of positive and negative curvatures. \textit{V. G. Lamburt, D. D. Sokolov} and \textit{V. N. Tutubalin} [Mat. Zametki 74, No.~3, 416--424 (2003; Zbl 1076.53050)] obtained some general results on the structure of manifolds with alternating curvature by introducing probability techniques. They considered the behavior of Jacobi fields along geodesics, i.e., functions \(y(t)\) satisfying \(y''+\kappa(t)\,y=0\), \(y(0)=0\), and \(y'(0)=1\), where the curvature \(\kappa(t)\) is viewed as a random process. Thus, the behavior of the Jacobi fields on a manifold with random curvature has features in common with manifolds of both negative and positive curvature. In the paper under review, the authors find the class of metrics with random curvatures to construct special manifolds and then study properties of these manifolds by defining the notion of a renewing geodesic and investigating the Jacobi fields along such geodesics.
