The authors consider the problem of classifying all locally strongly convex, complete affine hypersurfaces with constant affine mean curvature. They prove the following as main Theorem: ``Let \(\Omega \subset \mathbb R^n\) be a bounded convex domain with smooth boundary, \(\varphi\) be a smooth strictly convex function defined in a domain containing \(\Omega \), satisfying \(\det (\varphi _{ij})\leq \frac{d}{2}\), where \( d=(2\sqrt{n} \operatorname{diam}(\Omega ))^{-\frac{n(n+2)}{n+1}}\). Then, there is a function \(u\in C^\infty(\Omega )\cap C^0(\overline{\Omega})\) such that: 1) \(u\) satisfies \(\sum u^{ij}V_{ij}=nL_1\), \(\det (u_{ij})= V^{-n-2}\) in \(\Omega\), while \(u=\varphi\), \(V=0\), on \(\partial\Omega\). 2) The hypersurface \(M\) defined by the graph of the Legendre transform \(f\) of \(u\) is an Euclidean complete affine hypersurface with constant affine mean curvature \(L_{1}<0\). Moreover, when \(n=2\), \(M\) is also complete with respect to the Blaschke metric''. They also show the extension of the above to the case of a general convex domain with continuous boundary, by the well-known procedure of approximating the latter by means of convex domains with smooth boundaries. Finally, they formulate a conjecture stating that ``every Euclidean complete affine hypersurface with negative constant affine mean curvature can be obtained in this fashion''.
