Let \(k\) be a field and \(G\) be a connected semisimple algebraic group defined over \(k\). Set \(\overline{G}=G\times_k\overline{k}\), where \(\overline{k}\) is an algebraic closure of \(k\). Fix a maximal torus \(\mathbb{T}\subset\overline{G}\) and let \(\Pi=\Pi(\overline{G},\mathbb{T})\) be the associated root system and \(\Lambda\) its weight lattice. Let \(\text{Br}(X)\) denote the Brauer group of a scheme \(X\) and for a positive integer \(n\), let \(_n\text{Br}(X)\) denote the subgroup of elements of \(\text{Br}(X)\) annihilated by \(n\). The paper under review proves the following main result: Theorem. If \(d=|\Lambda/\text{Hom}(\mathbb{T},\mathbb{G}_m)|\) is coprime with \(n\), then the natural homomorphism \[ _n\text{Br}(k)\longrightarrow _n\text{Br}(G) \] is an isomorphism. This, in particular, for \(G\) simply connected semisimple, implies : Corollary. Let \(k\) be a field with characteristic \(0\) and \(G\) be a simply connected semisimple algebraic group over \(k\). Then the natural homomorphism of Brauer groups \[ \text{Br}(k)\longrightarrow \text{Br}(G) \] is an isomorphism.
