This book contains a synthetic introduction to topology for undergraduate students. It provides an overview of the most important and useful parts of point-set as well as combinatorial topology. The material in both cases is arranged in alternating chapters. The point-set topology chapters cover: metric spaces, topological spaces, basis and subbasis, subspaces, products and quotients of topological spaces, continuity, homeomorphisms, and properties of topologies: Hausdorffness, connectivity, compactness. The combinatorial parts contain: graphs, Euler numbers, simplicial complexes, CW-complexes, manifolds, and classification of surfaces. The author leads the reader from simple facts to the more complex ones, from concrete to abstract, and appeals to the reader's intuition. He highlights the important role of topology in other branches of contemporary mathematics. The book contains plenty of illustrations and exercises which will help the readers to practice and fully understand the subject.
