Determination of the Stufe of certain cyclotomic fields (Q2540308)

The authors prove that the ``Stufe'' of the algebraic number field \(\mathbb Q(e^{2\pi i/p})\) where \(p\) is a prime \(\equiv 7\pmod 8\), is exactly 4. Meanwhile the reviewer understands that several authors have proved the results and conjectures on fields \(\mathbb Q(e^{2\pi i/p})\), \(p\) a prime by John Smith and the reviewer.
