Numerical solution of Laplace equation for an annular region (Q2541834)

This paper describes methods for the numerical solution of the Laplace equation when the given region is an annulus of fairly general shape. An exact solution of the Laplace difference equations for a region bounded by two concentric circles is first obtained, and the given irregular annulus can be considered as imbedded in the circular annulus. As an alternative, a proportional coordinate system is introduced and the solution is obtained based on the truncated Fourier series.
