Given three power series, \(f(z)\), \(g(z)\), and \(h(z)\), with \(h(z) =g(z)/f(z)\) and \(f(0)g(0)h(0)\ne 0\), entries in the Padé table for \(h(z)\) can be expressed explicitly by means of determinants involving the coefficients of \(h(z)\), or, alternatively, of \(f(z)\) and \(g(z)\), and certain identities relating these determinants can be established. These identities permit the easy derivation of important properties of the Padé table, including the Frobenius identities that are basic to the qd algorithm.
