\textit{J. M. Drezet} and \textit{J. Le Potier} [Ann. Sci. Éc. Norm. Supér. (4) 18, 193--243 (1985; Zbl 0586.14007)] introduced the notion of exceptional object in order to classify vector bundles on the projective plane. Later, the concept of exceptional object was generalized to triangulated \(k\)-categories. \textit{A. L. Gorodentsev} and \textit{A. N. Rudakov} [Duke Math. J. 54, 115--130 (1987; Zbl 0646.14014)] developed the technique of mutation on projective plane to determine all exceptional objects in a given category. \textit{A. N. Rudakov} [Math. USSR, Izv. 32, No. 1, 99--112 (1989; Zbl 0661.14017); translation from Izv. Akad. Nauk SSSR, Ser. Mat. 52, No. 1, 100--112 (1988)] constructed all exceptional vector bundles on \(\mathbb P^2\) starting with the triple of line bundles \((\mathcal {O},\mathcal {O}(1),\mathcal {O}(2))\). \textit{A. L. Gorodentsev} [Math. USSR, Izv. 33, No. 1, 67--83 (1989; Zbl 0736.14003); translation from Izv. Akad. Nauk SSSR, Ser. Mat. 52, No. 4, 740--757 (1988)] generalized the technique of mutation to category of sheaves for other varieties, \textit{A. I. Bondal} [Math. USSR, Izv. 34, No. 1, 23--42 (1990; Zbl 0692.18002); translation from Izv. Akad. Nauk SSSR, Ser. Mat. 53, No. 1, 25--44 (1989)] generalized this method to triangulated \(k\)-categories. In the paper under review, the author defines the subcategory of fixed points of mutation by an exceptional object in a triangulated category. Then the author proves that the subcategories of fixed points of mutation determined by an exceptional object \(E\) in a triangulated category coincide with the perpendicular category of \(E\). Based on the characterisation above, the author proves that the subcategory of fixed points of mutation in the derived category of the coherent sheaves on weighted projective line with genus one is equivalent to the derived category of a hereditary algebra. Finally, the author proves that recollement is preserved under the action of mutation, and introduces two new recollements by left and right mutations from a given recollement.
