The construction of a representation of loop algebras (Q2563433)

The author constructs a representation of the loop algebra \(L{\mathcal G}\) via the cohomology of \(L{\mathcal G}\). The construction is based on a derivation \(\delta\) of \(L{\mathcal G}\) and a two-dimensional closed cochain \(\omega\) of \(L{\mathcal G}\) with coefficients in the real numbers. Much of the construction takes place in greater generality than required for the application to the loop algebra. In the case of \(\omega=0\) the differential of the energy representation of the corresponding loop group \(LG\) is derived.
