The construction of real time expert systems needs definition of the typical problem categories and a detailed analysis of these categories. In this work the problem category defined is the process control in critical situations. A knowledge model for dynamical problem areas and a typified real time expert system architecture are developed. The problem area taken as an example is the control of contaminants in the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (USA).
