A \(k\)-cap in a finite projective space \(PG(3,q)\) is a set of \(k\) points no three of which are collinear. Examples of maximal size are provided by elliptic quadrics. It is an interesting question to classify the largest possible caps which are different from elliptic quadrics. The authors consider this problem in the case \(q=5\) and show that such maximal caps have 20 points and that there are -- up to projective equivalence -- exactly two distinct examples.
