Maximum orders of extendable actions on surfaces (Q256406)

In this interesting paper, the authors determine the maximum order of finite groups \(G\) acting on a closed surface \(\Sigma_g\) of genus \(g\) such that the action extends to a \(G\)-action on \(\mathbb{S}^3\) such that all possible embeddings \(\Sigma_g \hookrightarrow \mathbb{S}^3\) are \(G\)-equivariant. The proofs depend on an earlier study of the problem for the orientable case by the authors.
