The authors consider vector or matrix sequences of the forms \(x_n=x+Z_na\), \(x_n=x+Z_na_n\), where \(x_n\) and \(x\) are vectors of dimension \(p\), \(Z_n\) is a \(p\times k\) matrix and \(a_n\) a vector of dimension \(k\). Also, they study the case where the matrices \(Z_n\) are known and the vectors \(a\), \(a_n\) unknown. They generalize the annihilation operator approach and apply it to \((Z_n)\) instead of \((a_n)\). The new transformations presented are vector generalizations of the theta-algorithm. Applications to the solution of systems of linear and nonlinear equations are also given.
