The present paper proposes a waveform relaxation method to solve nonlinear initial value problems depending on complex parameters. Equations of that type appear in electrical circuits after applying the Laplace transform. Introducing a splitting function and splitting matrices, the problem can be rewritten as operator equation. Then using fixed-point arguments, convergence criteria for the waveform Jacobi and the waveform Gauss-Seidel method are shown. In order to improve the rate of convergence, an initial waveform guess based on Chebyshev collocation is suggested. More precisely, Chebyshev polynomials work quite good on small intervals, on large intervals nice results are obtained with Chebyshev rational functions. Finally, the performance of the proposed numerical scheme applied to a multiconductor transmission line problem is shown.
