In the paper under review some fourth order nonlinear partial differential equation in an \(n\)-dimensional Cartesian space \({\mathbb R}^{n}\) named Abreu's equation [see \textit{S. K. Donaldson}, J. Differ. Geom., 62, No. 2, 289--349 (2002; Zbl 1074.53059)], in the context of Kähler metrics on tori varietes, are considered. For any \(n > 1\) new solutions of that equation have been found by making a similarity reduction to \(O(n)\) invariant solutions. The similarity solutions are determined in terms of a single function \(f(r)\) depending only on the radial coordinate \(r\) which satisfies some second order ordinary differential equation (ODE), with a non-autonomus Lagrangian formulation. A local asymptotic analysis of solutions of the ODE in the neighbourhood of singular points is carried out, and the existence of a class of solutions on an interval of the positive real semi-axis is proved using a nonlinear equation. The integrability of Abreu's equation is discussed.
