Bernstein type theorems without graphic condition (Q2565967)

This paper extends a Kato-type inequality of Schoen-Simon-Yau for minimal hypersurfaces to minimal submanifolds \(M\) of higher codimension with flat normal bundles. This is combined with a Bochner-Type formula to yield an inequality satified by the second fundamental form. By considering the inverse of the volume element of \(M\), this inequality is used to obtained Bernstein type results (and other results) from volume growth estimates. Overall the paper extends the theory in this area in several different directions, in particular when \(\dim(M) < 6\).
