The authors investigate the problem of strong feedback stabilization of finite and infinite dimensional delay equations. ''Strong'' stabilization in this context means the possibility to stabilize the system for any prescribed exponential decay rate. The authors propose a linear feedback approach for the problem based on the linearization of the problem. Under suitable finite time controllability assumptions and appropriate bounds on the nonlinearity they show that the desired stabilizing feedback with prescribed decay rate can be obtained via the solution of a suitable Riccati equation.
