The author considers intrinsically stationary random processes in \(R^2\) with continuous variograms that grow slower than quadratically. For any such variogram, disc in \(R^2\) and \(\varepsilon,\) a second-order stationary process can be found that is independent at large lags, but has a variogram that comes within \(\varepsilon\) of the original variogram within the disc. Detailed discussion is given.
