The well-known Markov interlacing property for pears of polynomials to the case of polynomial \(B\)-splines is generalized. It is proved that if the interior knots of two \(B\)-splines interlace, then the zeros of their derivatives of any order also interlace. Moreover, the monotonicity property for polynomial \(B\)-splines is established. According to this property the zeros of the derivatives of any order of a \(B\)-spline are increasing functions of its interior knots. The same results for Chebyshevian \(B\)-splines are obtained.
