A tower \(\mathcal F: F_1\subseteq F_2\subseteq\ldots\) of algebraic function fields over the finite field \(\mathbb F_q\) is said to be recursively defined by the polynomial \(f(X,Y)\) if for each \(n\) there exists \(x_n\in F_n\) such that: (i) \(F_1={\mathbb F_q}(x_1)\) is the rational function field and \(F_{n+1}=F_n(x_{n+1})\) for \(n\geq 1\); (ii) \(f(x_n,x_{n+1})=0\) and \([F_{n+1}:F_n]=\text{ deg}_Yf(X,Y)\). The \textit{dual} tower of \(\mathcal F\) is the recursive tower \(\mathcal G\) defined by \(f(Y,X)\). The genus of \(\mathcal F\) is \(\lim_{n\to\infty} \# F_n(\mathbb F_q)/[F_n:F_1]\). Under the good asymptotic behaviour of the genus, the authors relate the ramification set of a recursive tower with the one of its dual. They present examples related to the papers by \textit{A. Garcia} and \textit{H. Stichtenoth} [Invent. Math. 121, 211--222 (1995; Zbl 0822.11078), J. Number Theory 61, 248--273 (1996; Zbl 0893.11047)]; \textit{G. van der Geer} and \textit{M. van der Vlugt} [Bull. Lond. Math. Soc. 34, 291--300 (2002; Zbl 1062.11037)].
