The author discusses the adsorption integral equation which describes the relationship between the measured adsorption isotherm and the unknown energy distribution function. Firstly he reduces the equation to the Langmuir integral equation, then shows that under rather general assumption the equation can be solved in an analytical form. He also develops some methods to construct an approximate solution to this equation. The results of this paper show that if the distribution's \(L_2\)-norm is big, the Tikhonov regularization does not work while the method of this paper gives an acceptable reconstruction.
