Approximate solution of multivariable integral equations of the second kind (Q2567978)

The author extends his method for one dimensional integral equations of the second kind [Bull. Aust. Math. Soc. 68, 517--528 (2003; Zbl 1055.65148)] to multi-dimensional second kind equations. This method is shown to have convergence of order \(4r + 4 \). For the interpolatory projection onto a space of piecewise polynomials, it is shown that the order of convergence of the new method improves on the previously established order of convergence for the collocation and the iterated collocation methods. A two-grid norm convergence method based on the new method is defined also. Some numerical examples are presented
