The authors prove the existence of two periodic solutions having positive components of the plane system of second-order ordinary differential equations \[ x^{\prime\prime}+a_1(t)x=f_1(x,y), \quad y^{\prime\prime}+a_2(t)y=f_2(x,y), \] where the vector field \((f_1, f_2)\) is singular at the origin. Conditions are placed on the coefficients of the equations so that the differential problem can be reformulated, via maximum and antimaximum principles, as a fixed-point problem for an order preserving operator. The results are then applied to study systems having a power-like structure.
