The aim of this paper is to give a result on the existence of periodic motions for the periodically forced Liénard differential equation \[ x^{\prime\prime}+f(x)x^{\prime}+g(x)=e(t). \] The obtained result is based on a degree theoretic continuation theorem. Some applications and illustrating examples are given.
