Let \((E,\tau)\) be a Hausdorff locally pseudo-convex space with the topology defined by a family \((|\cdot|_i)_{i\in I}\) of \(p_i\)-seminorms, \(\, 0<p_i\leq 1\) (see, e.g., \textit{S. Rolewicz} [``Metric linear spaces'', 2nd ed. (Mathematics and its applications (East European Series) 20, D. Reidel, Dordrecht--Boston--Lancaster and PWN -- Polish Scientific Publishers, Warszawa) (1985; Zbl 0573.46001)]. If \(E\) is provided with an algebra structure such that the multiplication is separately continuous, then \((E,\tau)\) is called a locally \(A\)-pseudo-convex algebra. If further, for every \(x\in E\) there exist \(M(x), N(x) > 0\) such that \(\, |xy|_i\leq M(x)^{p_i}|y|_i\,\) and \(\, |yx|_i\leq N(x)^{p_i}|y|_i,\,\) for all \(y\in E\) and all \(i\in I,\) then one says that \(E\) is a uniformly A-pseudo-convex algebra. These algebras were considered by \textit{M. Abel} [Uch. Zap. Tartu. Gos. Univ. 899, 71--90 (1990; Zbl 0746.46045)], and they contain as particular cases a lot of concrete spaces of measurable functions and of Orlicz spaces, equipped with locally pseudo-convex topologies. The authors prove several theorems about this kind of algebras including spectral theory, a study of entire series and an Arens--Michael type representation. The obtained results extend those obtained by the third author [\textit{M. Oudadess}, Ann. Sci. Math. Qué. 7, 193--201 (1983; Zbl 0532.46028) and C. R. Acad. Sci., Paris, Sér. I 296, 851--853 (1983; Zbl 0541.46038)] for the case of \(A\)-uniform algebras.
