Periodic solutions of vibrating strings. Degree theory approach (Q2568722)

This work is concerned with the \(1\)-parameter family of authonomous wave equations \[ \begin{cases} u_{tt}-u_{xx}=f(x,u,\lambda),& (x,t)\in (0,\pi)\times R,\\ u(0,t)=u(\pi,t)=0,& t\in R.\end{cases} \] Under suitable assumptions on \(f\), the author studies the bifurcation points and the connected components of \(T\)-periodic weak solutions of the above problem.
