Let \(\Omega\) be a \(C^3\)-smooth, bounded domain in \(\mathbb{R}^N\), let \(m>0\), and let \(p>\)max\(\{1,m\}\). The author considers the existence and boundedness of global solutions \(u(t,x)\) to the problem \(u_t=\Delta u^m+u^p\) on \(]0,T[\times\Omega, u(t,x)=0\) on \(]0,T[\times\partial\Omega\), and \(u(0,x)=u_0(x)\) on \(\Omega\), where \(u_0\in L^{\infty}(\Omega)\) and \(u_0^m \in H_0^1(\Omega)\). After summarizing the current state of knowledge of the topic, he restricts his considerations to the case \(m>1\). There he establishes conditions on \(p\) and \(N\) which ensure first that \(\text{sup}_{t\geq 0}||u(t,.)||_{\infty}\leq C(||u_0||_{\infty},\Omega,p,m)\), then that \(\text{sup}_{t\geq\tau}||u(t,.)||_{\infty}\leq C(\tau,\Omega,p,m,)\) for each \(\tau >0\) if \(u\geq 0\).
