Throughout all rings have identity and all modules are unital right modules. A submodule \(A\) of a module \(M\) is called coclosed in \(M\) if, whenever \(B\) is a submodule of \(M\) with \(B\subseteq A\), \(A/B\) superfluous in \(M/B\) implies \(A=B\). The author introduces the notion of \(T\)-module. Thus a module \(M\) is called \(T\)-module if \(M/A\cong M/B\) for \(A,B\) submodules of \(M\) with \(A\) coclosed in \(M\) implies that \(B\) is coclosed in \(M\). The author shows that an amply supplemented module is discrete if and only if it is a \(\oplus\)-supplemented \(T\)-module. The main result of the paper states that, if \(M=M_1\oplus\cdots\oplus M_n\) is an amply supplemented module, then \(M\) is a \(T\)-module if and only if each \(M_i\) is a \(T\)-module and \(M_1,\dots,M_n\) are relatively projective.
