    Let \(A\) denote the class of analytic functions \(f(z)= z+\sum^\infty_{n=2} a_n z^n\) in the open unit disc \(U\), of the complex plane. Let the usual Ruscheweyh derivative \(D^\alpha\) be defined by \[ D^\alpha f(z)= {z\over (1-z)^{\alpha+1}}* f(z)\quad (\alpha= 0,1,2,3,\dots), \] where \(*\) denotes Hadamard convolution. Let \[ C(\alpha, n)= {\prod^n_{k=2}(k+\alpha- 1)\over (n-1)!}. \] Let \(R_\alpha(\beta)\) denote the class of functions \(f(z)\) in \(A\) satisfying \[ \text{Re}{D^{\alpha+ 1}f(z)\over D^\alpha f(z)}> {\alpha+ 2\beta\over 2(1+\alpha)}\quad (\alpha\geq 0,\;0\leq \beta< 1,\;z\in U). \] Finally, let \(H_\alpha(\beta)\) denote the subclass of \(A\) consisting of functions \(f(z)= z+ \sum^\infty_{n=2} a_nz^n\) for which \[ \sum^\infty_{n=2} (2n+ \alpha- 2\beta) C(\alpha, n)|a_n|\leq 2+ \alpha- 2\beta. \] In this paper the author investigates conditions on functions \(f(z)\in H_\alpha(\beta)\) for which \(k(f* g)(z)\) is subordinate to \(g(z)\) in \(U\) for every convex function \(g(z)\) in \(U\) (for a suitable constant \(k\) depending on \(\alpha\) and \(\beta\)). The author also gives a lower bound for \(\text{Re}(f(z))\) for \(f\in H_\alpha(\beta)\).
