A pair \((S,T)\) of self-mappings of a \(D\)-metric space \((X,D)\) is said to be semicompatible if \(lim_{n\rightarrow \infty}STx_n=Tx\), whenever \(\{x_n\}\) is a sequence in \(X\) such that \(lim_{n\rightarrow \infty}Tx_n=lim_{n\rightarrow \infty}Sx_n=x\in X\). The authors establish some common fixed point results for a semicompatible pair \((S,T)\) satisfying a general contractive condition in an unbounded \(D\)-metric space.
