The knot Floer homology for knots in closed 3-manifolds was introduced by \textit{P. Ozsváth} and \textit{Z. Szabó} in [Adv. Math. 186, 58--116 (2004; Zbl 1062.57019)], and turned out to estimate the 4-genus and the unknotting number and moreover the genus of a knot in the 3-sphere. Refer to \textit{P. Ozsváth} and \textit{Z. Szabó} [Geom. Topol. 7, 615--639 (2003; Zbl 1037.57027), Geom. Topol. 8, 311--334 (2004; Zbl 1056.57020)] for more details. Basically, it is difficult to calculate the knot Floer homology, however some calculations have been made for knots with nine crossings or less, Kinoshita-Terasaka knots and Conway knots, so far. Refer to \textit{P. Ozsváth} and \textit{Z. Szabó} [Topology Appl. 141, 59--85 (2004; Zbl 1052.57012)] for details. The authors in the current paper show a combinatorial method for the calculation of the knot Floer homology of two certain families of knots in the \(3\)-sphere. One is the family of knots called \((1,1)\)-knots with 10 crossings, the other one is that of the pretzel knots of type \((-2,m,n)\). Note that their calculations determine the unknotting numbers and 4-genera of the pretzel knots of the above type.
