The authors investigate the exponential stability of linear neutral functional-differential equations and give an criterion for exponential stability in terms of roots of the characteristic equation of the considered system in an appropriate half-disk in the complex plane. Then, three sufficient conditions are derived for exponential stability. Two of them are given in terms of spectral radii of matrices defining the considered system and the other one is given in terms of a measure and norms of system matrices.
