\textit{A. W. M. Dress} and \textit{C. Siebeneicher} proved [Adv. Math. 78, 1--41 (1989; Zbl 0691.13020)] that there exists a functor \(W_G\) from the category of commutative rings \({\mathcal C}om\) into itself associated to a profinite group \(G\) such that the construction of Witt vectors is obtained in the case when \(G\) is the completion of the multiplicative infinite cyclic group. In some previous papers, the author has shown that \(W_G\) can be viewed as a functor from the category of special \(\lambda\)-rings to \({\mathcal C}om\). Here he gives two functors from \({\mathcal C}om\) to \({\mathcal C}om\), which are equivalent with \(W_G\).
